Latest News from Outposts!

Outposts Ltd wish to send huge congratulations to Katie and Rob on their recent marriage.

Newly weds, Rob & Katie Dorpman

Katie White is now Katie Dorpman so do not be confused when you get an email from a " new person" at the Outposts Office!

Katie is the backbone of the office, always smiling and patient, ever efficient, continually thinking outside the box to ensure all our programmes run smoothly and seemingly without effort. Even working up to her wedding, a very busy time of the year, with school programmes, overseas expeditions and corporate ILM training happening in several different locations running concurrently, she made it all happen AND arranged the best, beautiful country wedding as well. I am sure you will all wish to send her MANY congratulations and tons of love for a long and happy marriage.

Year 6 Adventure day climbing and caving with Outposts

Year 6 of The Elms had a whale of a time caving, climbing and challenging themselves, with Outposts Ltd last week.  All students did fantastically well. The pictures say it all!

Good Luck Gail!

Sad news - Gail Izzard, Sales and Marketing Manager to Outposts for the last four years, has decided it is time to move on.

Gail came to us having gained invaluable sales and marketing experience working across a variety of industries, including Leisure, Events & Conferencing Industries, Travel Agency, Tour Operations, Airline and Local Government.

Gail threw herself into the role both professionally and physically, experiencing for herself the exhilaration and excitement of Outposts outdoor adventure activities (including coasteering and caving) and overseas expeditions to South Africa and Nepal!

Everyone at Outposts will miss Gail.  We wish her every success in her next adventure.

Progressive challenges for Years 4 to 7 at Outposts Ltd

For many years now Outposts have been providing extracurricular activities and challenges for schools.  One particularly popular and successful programme (The Progressive programme) is designed to provide a learning curve, with no repetition of activities, as pupils rise through the school.

An example of a programme might be Coracle Building and an Introduction to Survival in Year 4, Team Building in Year 5, Rock Climbing and Caving in Year 6 and Advanced Survival in Year 7.

Students get the opportunity to learn about themselves, to learn about each other and to bond together as a group whilst having fun participating in the various activities and sleeping at our Bush Camp (or in the shelters they make in the woods if they are in Year 7!)

Last weekend we had some Year 5s having fun with Team Tasks and Archery while Year 6s were off at Cheddar caving - Year 7 are looking forward coming later in the year, and surpassing what they did when they were in the years below!
