Outposts Ltd, an ILM (Institute of Leadership Management) provider,
is facilitating an intensive learning experience for over 200 apprentices over
a 5 week period based in Wales.
The
first group has arrived in the Brecon Becons for the final stage of
their ILM level 3 in Leadership qualification at the end of their 3-year
apprenticeship.
The Outposts' programme is a unique 'leadership journey'
using action learning, a reflective log and leadership action
plan, to develop and practice the skills of leadership to underpin the
theory previously learned in a classroom-based environment.
The course
is to facilitate the successful completion of the final units of the apprentices
Level 3 ILM Leadership & Management qualifications.
The core activities will take place at various outdoor
locations and will include a wide range of specially designed tasks. These activities will draw on a number of skills that have
steadily been developed during the Advanced Apprenticeship Programme.
The skills
include:
- Communication;
- Time Management;
- Delegation;
- Planning & Organising; and of course
- Leadership & Management
The
programme also enables the participants to incorporate Corporate Values into their
activities.
The only female apprentice on week one.
